Burkina Faso, is suffering from an expanding conflict. The violence, affecting thousands of civilians, is mostly taking place in the north of the country. Some targeted attacks have also taken place in the capital city, Uagadugu. Those growing criminal attacks in Burkina Faso are rarely claimed, but most of them are allocated to armed jihadist groups affiliated to Al-Qaeda or the Islamic State. Since 2015, 750 people have been killed and approximately 560 000 have been displaced internally in the country. Hundreds of centers have been installed by the government to help refugees get registered and claim humanitarian aid.
